The million dollar shocker

have you heard the news?

12-18-2005> We played at the Pink Eye tonight. Not the type of crowd we're used to... bars are more our scene. There were too many large gauge piercings and fucked up hairdos. Well, either way, we showed them what BD was all about and we even caught a few girls getting down to a few songs in the back. The Rage cover was great. We freaked out. Luke thinks he messed up his hand. We'll see.

12-12-2005> The EP is finished. Come buy it at Mike's on Thursday!

12-11-2005> We're moving on up. Sort of like the Jeffersons, but in a website sense... Soon, we will be getting a domain name. So instead of having to remember "www.aok.net/sloftis" you can remember something like "ballsdeeprocks.com" or something. In addition to having a new web address, we're going to have t-shirts and buttons for sale. Eventually, we're going to have super-groovy silk screened t-shirts. If you have a strange unquenchable urge for BD gear, shirts will be available at the show on Thursday. It's going to rock. Then you can rock our wear..

12-9-2005> I spoke with John and he's mixing the album in OKC as I am writing this. Luke and I are going to the City tomorrow to pick it up and bring it back to Stillwater. We're going to have it for sale at our show at Mike's on the 15th.

12-8-2005> Kristen sent me a text earlier, and we're officially playing at The Pink Eye in Tulsa, OK on Sunday, December 18. Hope everyone can make it.

12-7-2005> It's been a few days since the last post, but damn, things are starting to heat up. Being the good student I am, I am trying my best to keep my mind on finals (this is dead week... finals next week) instead of the band, but it's impossible! We are going to be playing THREE LIVE SHOWS in the next few weeks. After the Mike's gig on the 15th, we are going to be playing at the Pink Eye in Tulsa, Oklahoma between the 18th and the 20th. Right after Christmas, we are playing in Tulsa at the Hive between the 26th and the 29th. It's a four day concert series, so you'll be able to see more than just BD. Tickets are $6 and $10, respectively. Tell everyone you can. Kristen has info about tickets, so if you have any information, send an email to antface10k@yahoo.com and I'll have her hook you up.

11-23-2005> Everybody, I would like to tell you that we are going to have a gig at Mike's College Bar on Thursday, December 15 at 10:30 p.m. Come support us at our first real-live gig!

10-30-2005> Holy crap. You should have been at the party!

10-26-2005> Recording resumes tonight. We're back. We've also sent out several presskits to various places in Tulsa and Oklahoma City. We hope to see you all soon!

10-12-2005> All the Rock has been placed on a short standstill. One of the members of the band suffered a lost in the past few days and we're just letting things run their natural course for a little while. Soon, however, we will be back on track.

09-30-2005> Last night, Trent and Kristen journeyed to the city to lay down some bass tracks for a few of the songs. I was at work, sitting around doing nothing, waiting for the clock to strike six. Needless to say I was jealous that they were recording, but my petty jealousy ended once I heard the newly recorded WAC. Holy crap, I was pleased! I threw all the studio recorded songs we have finished onto a CD, which I am calling the "Demo Preview." Today Kristen and I stood outside the student union handing out copies of the demo preview. The hour of completion is at hand... we only have a few more songs left! Soon, the EP will be ready to hand out to anyone and everyone! w00t!

09-23-2005> As of writing this post, we are sitting in Creation lab in Moore, Oklahoma. We are recording a few songs. Tonight we recorded the drums and the skeletal guitar tracks to three songs. A short time ago, we started noticing loud bass frequencies bleeding through the walls. Down the hall, there is this place called "The Living Room" where a few bands are playing. Luke and I went out to take a cigarette break and a gang of about five or six young looking kids asked what kind of cigarettes we were smoking: menthols. Luke though they were going to ask us for one or something. One of the kids had this smeared fushia makeup around his eyes, accented with some black eyeliner. They were all wearing black Hot Topic style pants and tshirts along with black and red fishnet sleeves. Silly kids. I wanted to get a picture of them, looking all cute and gothed out, but I didn't have my camera on me. Damn. It was funny. You should have been there.

09-22-2005> Back from the studio again! w00t! After about two and a half hours of total production ineptitude, we were finally able to begin recording. Damn. For the amount of bullshit we went through tonight, we could have had a super-polished version of Negative waves up. Hell, we could have cranked out two songs, but oh well. We got the Waves available for download now. Sounds alright! A little polishing and I think we'll have a winner. Download it. Now. Do it.

09-21-2005> Back to the studio again! w00t! Luke and I are heading to Oklahoma City tonight to go do some recording. Not sure how many songs we'll accomplish, but I know we'll work on Negative waves. Can't wait. As of writing this post, I am about an hour away from getting off work and into the rock. Keep your eyes and ears peeled for new music.

09-02-2005> It's official. We're going to start hustlin' our "All the Rock" EP around Stillwater. Call us or email us if you want one. Also, if you see any of us running around campus, let us know and we'll hook you up. Look here for the promotional mini-poster. Print it out. Iron it on to a tshirt.

08-25-2005> This evening we loaded up the band and headed to the Stillwater countryside to get our pictures taken. We got our pictures taken near an old iron bridge. We threatened to throw Luke into the creek. That would have made a cool picture... a freeze frame of Luke hitting the water, making a splash while the rest of us stand on the bank of the creek laughing. Damn. Anyway, the picture is up... pretty soon I'm gonna make a gallery of all the pictures that were snapped.

08-20-2005> We played live again at 1710 Sunset in Stillwater. It was insane! We played our first show with our new bass player, and she filled up the sound like water balloon full of crude oil. Everyone got blisters after hearing the set. Kyle didn't come. We filmed it, and if he sees the video, he will write me a thank you note for what he just saw. We busted out a new cover by Rage, and it totally rock. We got super pissed. I get worn out just watching the video. Pictures are here.
